Massey Monday: Just a Short Run

Most times we (sometimes this is me and Massey or me, the Mas, and Beth) go for fairly long runs...somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-miles-ish.  But, not this time.  Massey and I had no time for a standard run.  Instead, I somehow found time to sneak away from work with some sunlight left.  Beth had left her in the backyard for the afternoon and I rushed home, came in through the front door, grabbed a camera, and the Mas.  Off to the Fort Ord trails.  She knew that time was fleeting and "awwowoww'd" the entire 5 minute drive to the trailhead.  Once there, off she went.  I think we only went (I walked, she sprinted) about a mile or so up the trail (about 20 min).  These are all the shots from the short hike.  Who could not go out with the Mas and just be happy.  I think she's smiling in every shot!

Oh, and PS, the text somewhere in the middle from Beth claiming I stole her dog and that I "owe her a dog" are completely false.

Massey Monday: Happy Mas!

With everything that is horrible in this world, it's so nice to see a happy Massey! Pure joy. . . makes you feel better (or at least, it makes me feel better).

Massey Monday: Crazy Adventures

So, what can I say...Massey is a great puppy (I mean dog). She puts up with our crazy adventures, like driving two or more hours to some trail that we don't even know if it really exists. Driving to the tops of mountains and joining somewhat random wineries. But at the end of the day, I think she likes our crazy adventures. Here's a few shots of her on one of them. Perhaps some of these shots will make a Thirsty Thursday sometime.

The Mas Is Back

The Mas (a.k.a. Massey) has been out of commission for the last couple of weeks...which means we've had a very energetic puppy for a while.  Let me explain the details of her injury. We were out running at Creekside; or should I say, I was out running at Creekside and she was exploring the fields in front, behind, and all around me.  Everything was just fine until we got back home and I was doing the normal "tick check" and found she had a nice 1/4" gash on her chest.  She seemed not to notice of course.  Unfortunately, after giving her a bath, the cut wasn't going to close without assistance.  Thus, we had to take the poor little thing to the vet for a staple.  The staple meant no running...which did not go over well with her.  Take a look at these photos to understand...pure joy...they are from previous runs (before the two week intermission).

Fortunately, everything has healed and she is good to go.  She had the staple removed (rather it fell out) last Thursday.  We like to think she willed it out of her body so she could go running again.  Here are just a couple of shots from her run today...suffice it to say, she was a bit out of shape.  But really, that doesn't matter to her...she just loves being out there.
